The PTL-109 Riding Helmet has a wide visor to offer additional coverage from the sun’s damaging rays. EPS and Advanced ABS Composite outer shell; injection molded shell design; washable quick-dry moisture winking anti-microbial liner; comfort padded harness with synthetic suede lining hook & loop adjustment and Fastex buckle; two side two front one back and two center stripe vents We are well aware that the helmet has to fit the rider’s head correctly so that the best safety level is guaranteed. We also explain what is included in standards for helmet testing. Why use a  helmet ? Helmets are useful as safety gear to prevent injuries in an uncontrolled environment. If you can't prevent a crash or impact, but you know it will occur, a helmet can prevent or minimize injury to the head and brain. SKI HELMETS STANDARDS

Skiers and other participants in winter sports, such as snowboarding, are at risk of injury if they are involved in accidents. Owing to the nature of winter sports, many accidents will involve collisions at speed between the skier or snowboarder and other people or objects on the course. Therefore, skiers and snowboarders are advised to wear protective headgear( Ski helmet ) to help prevent head injuries. The current European standard for such head protectors is  EN 1077:2007 . This standard covers two classes of head protector, referred to as ‘Class A’ and ‘Class B’. As well as providing shock absorption protection to the head,  Class A helmets  are required to provide coverage to the ears and also a degree of protection to the ear against mechanical hazards such as abrasion. A further requirement is that no part of the helmet should be detachable throughout the minimum protective area. EN12492 Impact / Shock Absorption Similar to both industrial  helmets  and bump caps, mountaineering helmets are subjected to an impact from a falling mass onto a fixed headform. However, to reflect the nature of the use, additional impacts are required at the front, side and rear of the helmet. These impacts are carried out by tilting the headform on the rigid base at an angle of 60° (so that impacts are carried out at 30° from the horizontal plane of the headform). Impacts are carried out using two strikers, one flat and one hemispherical, each weighing 5kg. Helmets are impacted using the hemispherical striker dropped from a height of 2 metres, and at the front, rear and sides using the flat striker dropped from a height of 500mm. In all cases, the transmitted force through the headform cannot exceed 10kN.
